First Premier aims for early 2021 open for new Sioux Falls headquarters

First Premier Bank leadership announced in March the bank would invest in a new national headquarters and main office building near the intersection of Minnesota Avenue and 14th Street.

Executives initially expected to finish the project this November but are still pleased with progress on the building despite pushing back the timeline, according to a Wednesday statement from company representatives.

“Premier is very proud of the investment it has made and is excited to be the gateway to downtown,” the statement said.

First Premier’s project has continued to take shape since the banking and finance firm broke ground on the site in March 2019. The new headquarters will be kitty-corner from its current headquarters, in the bank branch building at 601 S. Minnesota Ave. The older building is on the market for $3.2 million.

When it opens, the new building will include retail banking services, along with business and private banking, home mortgage lending and trust services. Executives have said the building is planned to have state-of-the-art tech for mobile and online banking. View the story on Argus Leader’s website.
